APAC Labs celebrates the launch of a new project aimed at transforming archaeological and paleontological documentation: StratiGraph
StratiGraph (Knowledge Graphs for Stratigraphy) has officially launched—bringing together archaeologists, paleontologists, and technologists to rethink how we document, connect, and interpret the ground we excavate. APAC Labs is collaborating on this project which will deliver open-source tools that combine knowledge graphs, AI-assisted modules, and 3D field documentation, making high-quality, structured data the default outcome of everyday fieldwork.
The project will aim to deliver AI-powered tools for creating and enriching annotated bibliographies and advanced 3D documentation capabilities for recording stratigraphy among many other deliverables. StratiGraph will be validated on a diverse set of sites and datasets, including St. John Lampadistis Monastery, a cultural heritage site in Cyprus in which APAC Labs have extensively contributed to its study.
The kick-off meeting took place in Rome and set the stage for an exciting journey, with collaborative workshops and the first steps of the project’s development.
