The collaboration visit of Dr. Georgios Mastrotheodoros highlights the interdisciplinary strengths of APAC Labs

Last month, APAC Labs hosted Dr. Georgios Mastrotheodoros, Assistant Professor in the University of West Attica’s Department of Conservation of Antiquities and Works of Art. His visit was possible with the support of an ERASMUS+ mobility grant.

Professor Mastrothedodoros’ research projects center around the study and conservation of portable (and occasionally monumental) paintings with an emphasis on religious panel paintings (“icons”), as well as on the study of primary art technology sources such as the Dionysius of Fourna “Hermeneia”.

While at APAC Labs, Professor Mastrotheodoros engaged with researchers and students both in the lab and in the field, identifying areas of significant research value and potential for continued collaboration.
