Honorary Award to Dr. Andreas Pittas Highlights APAC Labs’ Success


The foundation and successful development of APAC Labs were highlighted during a prestigious ceremony honoring Dr. Andreas Pittas in the Limassol Municipal Hall on Friday, March 7. The Municipality of Limassol honored Dr. Pittas, Founder and Executive Chairman of Medochemie, with the "Christodoulos Sozos" Contribution Award, which is the highest honorary distinction granted by the Municipality of Limassol, in recognition of his multifaceted contributions to the city and our country. 

In his speech, Mayor of Limassol, Mr. Giannis Armeftis, praised the invaluable contributions of Dr. Pittas to the city of Limassol and Cyprus underscoring, among his many achievements, his critical role in the successful foundation and growth of the Cyprus Institute and its APAC Labs. Referring to the work of Dr. Pittas, Dr. Nikolas Bakirtzis, APAC LAbs Director and Professor at the Cyprus Institute, made special mention of his multifaceted contributions to the fields of Art, Research, and Literature with particular mention on the visionary establishment and growth of APAC Labs.

Upon receiving the award, Dr. Andreas Pittas emphasized that contributing to society is not an individual endeavor but a collective one. "It is an ongoing effort, a shared vision, a responsibility that we must all embrace together," he stressed. He also expressed his excitement about the successful development of APAC Labs which have become an international reference point for the use of innovative technologies in the study and preservation of cultural heritage.
