Tariq Benzaza joined the Cyprus Institute as a Graduate Research Fellow and PhD student in February 2025. He holds a professional bachelor's degree in land surveying from University College Ghent and a master's degree in archaeology from Ghent University, Belgium. With this combined background, Tariq brings a diverse and complementary set of skills that are highly applicable within interdisciplinary approaches in archaeology and cultural heritage studies. He has been actively involved in archaeological fieldwork and research campaigns in Cyprus, particularly with the Pyla-Kokkinokremos Excavation Project, as an archaeologist and topographer.
Research Interests: Geospatial science in archaeology, digital reconstruction, architecture, archaeometallurgy
