4CH Interview about the protection of the Natural and Cultural Heritage of Cyprus

Another interview by the APAC researchers with a local stakeholder was published as part of Task 7.4 “Dissemination and exploitation activities” of the 4CH project. The 4CH interviews aim to start the experts' discussion about their possible contributions to establishing a future Competence Centre. Moreover, the interviews offer the general public the opportunity to explore the 4CH project through the lenses of Cultural Heritage professionals and researchers. The speakers analyse several topics related to Cultural Heritage

In conversation with Iosif Hadjikyriakos, Director of the Phivos Stavrides Foundation and Associate Researcher of the Cyprus Marine and Maritime Institute (CMMI), Associate Professor Sorin Hermon discusses how the 4CH Competence Centre for Culture Heritage can contribute to the protection of the natural and cultural heritage of Cyprus. The discussion focuses on the importance of studying history and consequently preserving the archives, studying the natural environment, and engaging the local communities. The solution proposed is to include Cultural Heritage in the everyday life of society and share the scientific results in a simple language that makes feel people part of it and makes them understand the importance of protecting it.
