Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation reported on the scientific method of dendrochronology, which sheds light on unknown aspects of history hidden in the wooden roofs, beams and furnishing of Cyprus' most important historical monuments. Dendrochronology research contributes to the holistic recording of Cyprus' monumental heritage as it offers valuable insight into the climate and environment of the past. The research program "Tracing History and Environment with Tree Rings in Cyprus" (TREE) with the support of the Research and Innovation Foundation is supported by the collaboration of the Cyprus Institute, the Cornell Tree-Ring Laboratory, the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus, as well as the Forest Department of the island. In the report's context, the Associate Professor and Director of the Andreas Pittas Art Characterization Laboratories (APAC Labs) at the Cyprus Institute (CyI), Dr. Nikolaos Bakirtzis revealed important information regarding historical monuments in Cyprus.
