APAC at the online workshop ''Scratched, Scrawled, Sprayed: Towards a Cross-Cultural Research on Graffiti''
Dr. Mia Trentin, PI of the Grafmedia project, has been invited to present an overview of Eastern Mediterranean Graffiti of the Medieval and Early Modern period. The University of Hamburg -Centre for the Study of Manuscript Cultures (CSMC) organizes the 3 days’ workshop bringing together experts on Graffiti scratched, scrawled, or sprayed on surfaces worldwide. By exploring the extent of graffitiing practices from antiquity to the present day and the diversity of scholarly traditions dealing with them, the workshop aims at opening up an interdisciplinary dialogue on the prospects of a cross-cultural study of written artefacts known as ‘graffiti’.
The graffiti expertise developed in the last years by APAC has started to be recognized internationally, becoming the reference point for the application of innovative technologies to the documentation, study and enhancement of this precious heritage.
