APAC at the conference "Mobility in the Eastern Mediterranean in the axis Asia Minor, Cyprus, Egypt, 19th-20th centuries. Current and new Approaches"


The international conference "Mobility in the Eastern Mediterranean in the axis Asia Minor, Cyprus, Egypt, 19th-20th centuries. Current and new Approaches”, organized by the Department of Turkish and Middle Eastern Studies of University of Cyprus on the 9th and 10th of April features organization and presentation contributions from STARC and particular presentations by PhD candidate Thanasis Koutoupas, graduate alumna Dr. Christina Roditou and a brief address by Associate Professor Nikolas Bakirtzis. 

Based on current as well as new and modern approaches the conference aims to bring together papers that will discuss the topic in terms of history and sociology, while the importance of the documentation and the digitization of the archives will be presented. The content and focus of the conference relate to aspects of STARC and APAC Labs research in the city of Alexandria, the study of pilgrimage across the Eastern Mediterranean, and the development of digital libraries for photographic archives.
