APAC at the latest volume of Art Matters journal
APAC Labs Digital Curator Andriana Nikolaidou recently contributed to the latest volume of Art Matters, a journal of technical art history research.
Andriana’s article, “Codifying an artist’s studio: an ontology for the analysis of artistic space and process” examines the ephemerality and variability of artist’s studios by proposing a new ontology-based documentation framework for capturing these aspects.
Using a case study from a pottery workshop in Cyprus, Andriana posits the studio of an artist as a complex space that contains a wealth of information about the individual artistic process, materiality, philosophy, and inspiration.
