APAC Labs participated in the International Training Course on Post-Crisis Recovery of Cultural Heritage

APAC Labs Researcher Rahaf Orabi recently participated in the International Training Course on Post-Crisis Recovery of Cultural Heritage, in Rome. Building a global community for the post-crisis recovery of cultural heritage was the main goal of this training course.

This initiative brought together professionals from over 20 countries to collaborate on innovative approaches to heritage recovery in the aftermath of disasters. The course combined online learning with an intensive in-person workshop held at ICCROM headquarters in Rome. Participants engaged with critical topics such as value-based recovery planning, damage and risk assessments, social and economic resilience, adaptive reuse strategies, and the “Build Back Better” initiative to enhance recovery capacity and decision-making before disasters.

By fostering cross-border collaboration and sharing expertise, this course can empower communities worldwide to protect and recover cultural heritage. The training was generously supported by the Aliph Foundation.
