APAC Labs at the International Italian-Egyptian Workshop on Advances in Documentation, Digitization, and Information Technology on Heritage.

APAC Labs researcher and PhD student Athanasios Koutoupas co-presented "From Ground to Digital: Mapping the Legacy of Shatby's Ancient Necropolis" with Dr. Mona Haggag, President of the Archaeological Society of Alexandria, at the International Italian-Egyptian Workshop on Advances in Documentation, Digitization, and Information Technology on Heritage.

The presentation focused on the synergy between archaeological research and digital innovation, showcasing the documentation of the Shatby necropolis—a remarkable historical site in Alexandria. The detailed 3D model of the site provides the necessary documentation of the site’s current condition, state of preservation and the identification of all changes and alterations (natural and man-made).
