APAC Labs contributed to the latest issue of Les Nouvelles de l'archéologie issue n° 175.


APAC Labs researchers Luciarita Nunziata and Sorin Hermon explore the future of heritage engagement in their latest article, “Community Archaeology and the Digital Transformation: Enhancing Engagement and Heritage Practices Through Digital Technology,” published in Les Nouvelles de l'archéologie issue n° 175.

Their paper discusses community archaeology in relation to the digital transformation in the cultural heritage sector. It discusses how digital tools open new doors for meaningful, community-centred archaeology—conducted "for, by, and with" the people. Their work highlights the potential for digital innovation to foster a more archaeologically engaged society, empowering communities to play an active role in preserving and interpreting their heritage.

This specific publication issue also examines the evolving role of archaeology today, inviting researchers to reflect on the ethical responsibilities archaeologists hold towards diverse audiences.
