APAC Labs researcher Mehmet Ozerenler at the 2024 World Neolithic Congress
Cyprus Institute PhD student Mehmet Ozerenler recently attended the 2024 World Neolithic Congress in Urfa, Turkey, where he presented research undertaken at APAC Labs.
Mehmet’s poster, entitled “Technology, 3D documentation and function of lithic tools in the Epi-Paleolithic and PPNA in Cyprus - New insights from Akrotiri-Aetokremnos and Ayia Varvara-Asprekremnos in Cyprus,” presented the initial steps of a newly initiated study examining the evolution of lithic industries from the Epi-Paleolithic to the Pre-Pottery Neolithic A in Cyprus through a diachronic perspective.
Combining technological study, 3D documentation, and functional analysis, Mehmet’s research aims to enhance our understanding of Cyprus's early colonisation and Neolithisation processes from a holistic approach in lithic analyses.
