Project Title: Cypriot Antiquities in Foreign Museums: The Pittas Registry
Coordinator: The Cyprus Institute
Type of funding: Private
Funding source: Medochemie
Dates: January 2016 - Present
Project under development

Description: In close collaboration with the Cyprus Department of Antiquities, and kindly sponsored by Dr. Andreas Pittas, the Cypriot Antiquities in Foreign Museums program concerns the creation of a collaborative digital initiative that will make collections of Cypriot antiquities in foreign museums known to scholars and the general public. The vast majority of specialized collections of Cypriot Antiquities in major museums throughout the world have been generously sponsored and published by the A.G. Leventis Foundation, a key supporter of the project's effort. The Pittas Registry will pursue and foster collaborations with as many museums of the world as possible and is expected to help students and scholars of Cypriot archaeology, as well as interested members of the general public, gain a first acquaintance with the ancient art of Cyprus.
